Sunset over the bay
Rothesay faces west across the Firth of Clyde, so the town gets some of the most dramatic evening skies on the west coast. The seafront terraces, the pier and the bay light up as the sun drops behind the Cowal hills.
It is the kind of view that explains why Victorian Glasgow came ‘doon the watter’ — and why visitors still slow down the moment the ferry rounds the pier.
